Rules and Code of Conduct Empty
PostSubject: Rules and Code of Conduct   Rules and Code of Conduct EmptySun Dec 13, 2009 12:15 pm

Our goal for the Guild of Justice is to have a fun, safe, and fair gaming environment for all of our members. Below you will find a list of guidelines and the GOJ code of conduct that everyone should follow so we can remain the best guild on wow.
One Guild Only
A player that is involved in multiple guilds can take advantage of them. Our members don’t want someone to withdraw gold from our vault, send it to their other characters, and purchase a mount with it. We work hard for our gold and only we should have the rights to use it.

General Chat, Chat, Say, and Guild Chat
This is an English language server therefore only English is to be used during guild chatting.

The following types of behaviors are banned from general chatting, so if you need to speak with someone in another language or talk about matters that are inappropriate for the public chat, join a party or whisper to them.

Language (Cursing)
The language and dialect you use reflects on who you really are. If you have the need to constantly curse, than this guild may not be for you. We don’t mind the occasional cursing, but when it seems to be a constant part of your vocabulary, you will be warned and possibly removed from the guild.

Derogatory words
For example: Gay, Lesbian, Jew, Honky, Spick, ect (the list can go forever). We are a guild made up of multiple backgrounds, races, sexual orientation, and religious beliefs. These are very sensitive words for many people, and the use of them could hurt someone’s feelings causing them to leave us.

Drugs and S*x
Keep your favorite body parts, position, and/or drug of choice to yourself. If you think these areas of conversation are cool, that’s your opinion. However, not everyone wants/should hear about it.

General Harassment
Taunting a fellow player can add character to the guild and cause friendly competitions. This type of behavior is totally acceptable, and at times can be humorous. There is a fine line between taunting and flaming. Taunting someone about their characters appearance is fine. Flaming someone because they don’t know how to play their class is not. Also be cautious, because it is sometimes hard to determine if what was typed was meant as a joke. Choose your words wisely.

Begging
As members of the Guild of Justice we do not need to beg. All of us have worked hard to get the items we have, and will direct any needed member to good farming locations. If the gold is a necessity (very few cases) ask you guild members, don’t beg in the streets. Begging destroys the credibility of the guild, and many guilds have been labeled “Beggars Guilds.” We are not one of them.

Gold
Begging for gold is not acceptable. Gold in this game is very hard to come by. The level 80 players have worked hundreds of hours to have to gold they posses and they won’t let go of it easily. If you have a close friend in the guild, then feel free to whisper them a request.

Quest
Asking for help in a quest is fine. That why we have a guild, but limit your request to once or twice in a short period. Then wait an hour or so and try again. If no one responds to your request you can safely assume that no one is available to help you. It’s not that they don’t like you, they’re busy. If you are truly having difficulty getting past a quest, then whisper an Officer and they will try to find someone to assist you. A member that requests to be “power leveled” will not be considered as a player needing help. Remember that all of the level 80 Officers (myself included) was able to complete most of the quests alone to reach that level. You can too.

Equipment
Begging for gear is almost as bad as begging for gold. There is a proper way to ask for better equipment. Saying “I need a better chest piece for free.. plzzz” is not the way. Saying “Is there anyone available to help me upgrade my equipment?” is. When asking these requests be prepared to help yourself by supplying the necessary materials to the craftsman that decided to help you.

Group Behavior
In this game you will find people from all over the world, of different ages, believes, and time zones. You may find yourself speaking with a divorced mother of three who’s just trying to get away from the stresses of life, a family man who’s facing potential job layoffs, or a 9 year old boy who should be in his room studying. In any case, when you ask someone to assist you with a task you are not just speaking to a warlock or a hunter that’s just wondering around the map. You are taking time from the people behind the character who normally have the own agendas. If these people decide to drop what they’re doing to help you, you owe them your upmost respect and gratitude.

The Vault
The vault is very important to all of us and if used improperly we could have nothing left. The vault withdraws and deposits are monitored very closely by the Officers and we that information often to give promotions and demotions. The rules for the vault are simple: give first, then take. As our gold grows we will have the ability to increase the amount of gold members can withdraw. One day I would love to see our contributing members be able to withdraw enough gold to purchase a mount. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Withdraws and deposits

*
Deposit on green or better items (Except trade goods)
*
Place the items in the appropriately marked tab
*
Maintain a 50:50 or better deposit to withdraw ratio. This does not mean you deposit 3 low level potions, and take out 3 epic items. It means items of similar worth.
*
No one is permitted to withdraw an item for a non-guild member.
*
No one is permitted to take items from the vault to sell at the auction house or to a vendor for personal profit. These items were deposited to help member’s stats not their wallet.
*
Do not sell items to other members or charge them for the use of your professions (profession fees). This is a large family and not a way to make gold.

Inactive members

*
Because a small percentage of the players that visit the server and join our guild are simply server shopping, we have to have a system in place to remove them periodically. This is our method of keeping only the active members in our guild. So after 20 days of being offline we will deem you inactive and automatically remove you.
*
Alternate characters are not required to be actively played.
*
We understand that everyone has real life issues (Vacations, computer problems, family illness, or even worse) that come up and keep them from playing the game. If for any reason you are removed from the guild because we believed you to be inactive (regardless of reason) please whisper a member for a re-invite. You will be welcomed back with open arms.
*
If you are removed due to inactivity and return to the guild on a later date, your previous rank does not get reinstated.

Member Disputes

*
Any argument or disputes between players is to be taken into a private chat where it needs to be handled in a mature manner. Arguing in the public chat areas will result in removing all members involved from the guild. Arguing disrupts the guild and allows for the opportunity for private information or inappropriate content to surface. If the argument cannot be resolved, or if it is guild related, please take this up with one of the Management Officer for assistance.
*
There must be at least two Officers present during the member’s arbitration.

Problems with an Officer
If problems occur from one of the officers, please contact Lockstock or Neunen (if ,which i doubt, it is a problem with Lockstock or Neunen then turn to me,Vingmutter)

Hacks

*
No cheating, hacking, or exploiting is permitted. Anyone caught using these will be kicked from the guild and reported to the Game Masters for server removal.
*
Addons (Quest helpers, Maps, ect) are not considered to be cheating programs and are permitted to be used.
